Hello! Thank you for stopping by. Hopefully you’ve had a coffee today. If not, it’s definitely time to make one. Settle in with your favourite coffee recipe and feel free to take a browse through my blog.
Now, who am I?
I’m a twenty one year old full-time university student with a Bachelors in Media Studies and Philosophy. Where does coffee fit in? My research specializes in social media and online content creation. This, paired with my love of an afternoon latte led to me creating this online blog as a part of fulfilling my Honours degree. I have always wanted to share my love of coffee with others. Pairing my passion and coffee experience, I aim to educate and inspire others to look for more in their coffee.
I’m not your typical cafe blogger. Many city-centered blogs focus on food and reviews, whilst I want to explore more about the community created by these spaces. I’ve always had a passion for coffee for a young age, which has inspired me to immerse myself in cafe culture and to learn more about my favourite social beverage. From three years of being a barista, to a latte art competition and teaching my own barista-centered class, coffee has been a big part of my life. My aim with this blog is to educate the wider Wellington (and possibly New Zealand) community about great coffee. I want to be able to explain the ‘behind-the-scenes’ of wellington cafes and meet and explore new places, people and coffee recipes. I’m currently buzzing around the city, drinking great coffee and finding those cafe ‘nooks’ us coffee-lovers seek out. Of course, it’s all for research (or so I tell myself).
I look forward to having you here. Whether you’re a barista, cafe, coffee-lover or just a passerby, I hope you can find something that resonates with your own coffee journey. Who knows~ maybe one day we’ll have a coffee together. Until then, feel free to share any thoughts with me via my “Contact Me” page.
See you latte(r),
Whitley.
